Emma's shoppe with Kate!

The mojo is back!


For those of you who didn't know, I was on a scrapping lull these 2 weeks and couldn't seem to get anything done.  No inspiration at all! 

Managed to find some mojo last night and whipped out my Emma's shoppe papers that have been sitting too comfortably in my paper stash. I must say...the ideas just came fast and furious and within 1.5 hours, I was done with this piece! I'm really happy with it as I only used Emma's shoppe stuff and have plently of left overs and this again proves that u really don't need that much to scrap.  Not at all.

I love this photo heaps!  Kate is smiling so cheerfully.  Thanks to Jean for making silly faces so she'll smile properly.  Somehow the colours she and I wore that day go really well with Emma's shoppe...

Resident photographer H is not home today and he's at reservist.  I suspect there is something wrong with the F of the camera..it's set at 2.0 and I dun think it's right!  And then..the colour is not too vivid as well but I really suck at cameras. He has tried to teach me many times how to adjust the focus but I can't seem to remember at all. The only thing I know is 2.0 is the lowest. I can't even remb how to change it. Or what to change it to. This is bad.
I think it's like me teaching him how to cook..somehow, after multiple times he just can't seem to know when the garlics, onions, etc are done... :(
Only my good friend Justina excels at cameras, scrapping, sewing, cooking and motherhood. I can only do 3 out of these 4!

Little Ms K goes to the beach!

Today we brought Kate to the beach since it was youth day and what an adventure we had!  Ate breakfast at Macs and then we were off!  Before we set off, we asked Kate if she'd like to go the toilet and she vehemently went 'No no no no no'.. She has this habit of insisting that she does not need to go multiple times so yeah..we left it at that.

And then 10 mins later after we found a spot and started playing with the sand, she said 'I need to go to the toilet'. Panic. So i grabbed her, ran for Macs ( i didn't know how long she could hold her pee cos I've never done this!) and signalled to mum who also came running.

3 empty cubicles at Macs. I had a good dash carrying that 13 kg girl and I was glad we made it!  And then we waited. Mum inside with her and I waited outside. No pee. Our little friend started singing loudly in the cubicle and at this time, a queue started to form already.  More singing. No pee....and more singing. *so embarassing!*

Mum gave up, we got her back to the beach. And then, 5 mins later 'I need to go the toilet' again.
!!!!!!!!!!!
Next thing we knew, she had peed right there and then.
Fantastic!  Jean went to get change, couldn't find any so she had to wear diapers all the way. haahhaa
What an adventure!

Hong Kong Album

The only project this whole holidays is my Hong Kong album.  We had so much fun each day exploring good food and shopping that I decided on the 2nd day of the trip that I had to do this album to remember all the yummy food we had there..

The other aim of this album was to use up as much of my stash as possible and I finally broke into my OA stash that I've been hoarding for 2 years. It's most delightful to see my OA paper stack shrink to a meagre few scraps. Most liberating as well. 

For the cover I used  turqouise corrugated paper I got from Daiso for a whole roll..time to put it to good use..and a mish mash of Hambly, Jenni Bowlin and other stuff...

And I've also learnt that your photos really look better when u matt them with brown paper. Someone dark chocolate brown is the perfect colour. I had to rush to PM to get 7 pieces as I ran out of choc paper very quickly.

I have to stop..

apologising each time  I neglect this little blog of mine!

Some days I'm on a roll but on other days, I decide I have other things to do besides blogging!  Well, I realised that my lack of posts is usually cos I don't have photos to show and that's cos I am really bad at photography and I feel bad making H take photos for me especially since he's so busy!

After I got back from the fabulous land of Hong Kong, I had a slight meltdown of the clutter and mess in my house. I'm not a neat freak by nature, I do have a high tolerance for mess but seeing the colossal amount of clothes, shoes and bags I have, in addition to 2 suitcases of new stuff I bought from HK, I lost it. Really did.  Took out a trash bag and started ruthlessly throwing clothes into the bag. Esp stuff I hardly wore even though they have been there for ages. I tell myself that day will never come where I would want to wear these items again. If I've not worn them for the past 2 years, I am deluding myself by thinking I'll wear them in the next 2 years. So, off they went into the bag.  And I offered them to my part time helper on Saturday who took most of them for her cousin.  I feel so much happier.

And then I went to my scrap space. GOOD GOSH. That in itself spells another place of trouble and big time meltdown.  I got to throwing paper scraps after paper bits into the bin.  I can't believe I still have scraps from 2 years ago. Ridiculous me.  I won't say I did a lot of destashing but I finally used up my precious October Afternoon stash I've been hoarding since last year to make an album. And honestly, the feeling of using up your stash is way better than buying stuff. It's like you've accomplished much more.  I also did think of giving away stuff but was not sure if anyone would like half  or 3/4 used stuff like Thickers and stickers and glitter. So I'm not sure what to do.  Was pondering if I should be like Piradee and give away grab bags and just make sure people know these stuff are not completely new but would be happy to have them nonetheless.

So yeah, if you think I should put together some grab bags or if you'll be interested in having one, please leave me a comment. If there are enough takers, I'll get down to it.  And throw in some totally new stuff along the way, of course.

Happy Anniversary!

We gathered on Wed for dad and mum's 37th Anniversary. That number in itself is a mouthfull!   37!  I've not even made it past year 2!

 Me and Precious, who by the way is a cheater bug in the making. I tell her I'll race her to the toilet at the count of 3 and by number 2, she's already running. No prizes for guessing who won the race.

Another Gypsy Tray!

After all the dust has settled on the those red peppered scripts, I've finally got down to some scrapping!
  Bought this gypsy tray on impulse as it was on discount and too good to resist, even dragged HY down to buy one together with me but boy, it was a good buy!  You know how much I love gypsy trays and I treasure working on each and every area to make it look fabulous.


I could do this forever.

I also got the lastest Tim Holtz configurations tray and an IKEA frame to work on and I hope this holidays will inspire me to create as I find some time off work.

 For Mr T, an ex colleague who is like a father figure to me and always always watches out for me. I am indebted to him for his kindness through the years.

Ha...yes..I'm finally back!

Been very busy with election fever going on in the Lee and Tan household and going for rallies. 

It's only once in 5 years and you can't blame us for getting excited over it!  (and neglecting scrapbooking!)

I remember going for rallies as a Uni student even to Choa Chu Kang stadium with my uncle, bro and mum in tow and this year is no different.  It's times like these that make me feel most Singaporean as I take an interest in what goes on in this country. Also, I'm reminded that this is the only chance I get for my voice to be heard and that the power to govern this country is in our hands.

Busy with exam marking but in the midst of it, H and me take time to discuss politics and share information with each other.  I'm glad we're on the same page with regards to our political views.  Can't imagine if we hold 2 opposing views - this house will be divided!


And so the cards have been played and the results are looking good for WP.  I liken this whole election to a game of bridge.  PAP has good cards (ok, except one!) and WP to be honest, had weaker cards (and the Ace of Spades- Mao) but they had a better strategy.  I'm reminded in bridge that good cards will not win the game for you - you need a calculated strategy and you must take some risks.  And PAP's strategy (not sure if they had any) didn't pull through in the end and they lost George Yeo, coupled with 6 hammers now in parliament.  Sweet.

Let's see what these hammers can do in the next 6 years - I have confidence they will make a difference and voice concerns for us.  Pritam Singh - you go make some noise, ok? :)

But for now, I'm more interested in where George Yeo and Lim Hwee Hua will go next...they have to start packing their stuff tmrw at work.  A bit embarassing but I end this post with a quote from George Yeo on the need to build a foreign dormitory in Serangoon Gardens:

"The important thing is to do what is right. You cannot always be worried about votes."
