Quick Post

Just a really short and snappy post from me to say thanks for visiting my blog. I don't have any photos to post today as the lastest project I'm up to is not finished yet as I've been really busy with work. We're all busy getting ready for the new year and crafting has to take a back seat for now. However, I'll try my best to find time to finish my project either tonight or tomorrow morning and post photos.

Tmrw will be a good dinner catching up with friends at the Shang. It's a tradition we've kept for the past 10 years and we're still going strong even with partners and babies in tow.

Happy New Year everyone!

Pinked!!

Spent the most of yesterday and part of today trying to finish my latest layout. If you know me well, pink is often a colour I eschew and try to avoid at all cost (for reasons I cannot explain) ever since I started scrapping. It's just like how I never give brown clothes in a store a second glance. It just doesn't cut it for me. But yet somehow, I got inspiration yesterday to whip out my Basic Grey Lemonade Element Stickers to craft this layout which I thought would match well with my wedding photos.

I've never dabbled with such a girly and pink lay out before but overall, I think it's still within the acceptable 'sweetness' range for me. I'm also glad that I took the step to try something new and way out of my comfort zone. I wonder what's next!! :)

Notice the dew drops? I love them to bits..first attempt at using them and I'm sold. Totally. And I still thank the good and generous people at The Scrapbook Carton for sending them my way and making this layout possible.

Supply List:
White Basil Cardstock (easily available anywhere)
Flowers and embellishments: Basic Grey Element Stickers (Yes I know I've hoarded them for so long I don't think it's on sale in any store now!)
Dolly Lace Punch: Martha Steward (Still one of my all time favourites)
Patterned Paper: October Afternoon Ducks in a Row Collection (Hua Yi's favourite. Ok, and mine too!)
Thickers: American Craft 'Nutmeg' (not to be confused with Cosmo Cricket!)
Dew Drops: The Scrapbook Carton (Ok, you know where to get them right?)

Did I miss anything out??

Merry Christmas everyone!

Early Christmas Present!

The mail man came by yesterday but no one was home so we had to go to the Post Office today to collect this parcel. I was really happy to get the stash on my hands cos it had a whole bottle of dew drops in there. Got home quickly to take photos of the stuff before doing my work! (Real work, not scrap work!)

Quickly tore open the box..and viola! Woah..got air packs man...They're so thoughtful to even put air packs in case things get damaged.

After removing the air packs, this is what I saw..such lovely and simple packaging..complete with 'The Scarpbook Carton' logo..Looking very professional!

The big reveal: The contents! And the long awaited Dew Drops..and American Craft Letterbox collection! Such a lovely collection that I'm even ordering more patterned paper of the same collection from The Scrapbook Carton. I've even introduced HY, my good friend and colleague to the website and now we're pulling in our orders together to get stuff from them!

Do visit their site here and see what they have. The best thing I like about them is that they're reasonably priced..something all scrappers would appreciate!

Have a good Christmas everyone..I'll be very busy with parties and entertaining guests at my home but while we're all in the season, let's not forget Christ who came to Earth for us...and loved us enough to die for us.

Blessed Christmas!

Cosmo Cricket Galore!

Finally got down to creating stuff using my Cosmo Cricket stash that I won from a draw 4 months back. Sometimes I still can't believe that out of 200+ people who put in their names, mine got chosen. It's surreal the win an entire pack of goodies that would have set me back about $50 here at the local LSS. Thank you Lindsay, Eric and Julie! :)

First up is a notebook that I'm making for a Christmas Gift Exchange party. I figured that I should use up my stash rather than rush with the crowd to buy presents! I used the Girl Friday line which I'm starting to fall more in love with (I used to say that Early Bird was my favourite..but now I'm starting to waver!)

Next up is a tag made for Elaine, my dear colleague and friend. I hope she likes it! The tag is from Maya Road and paper from Cosmo! If you notice, my previous album is from Maya Road too..this is a remnant piece that I threw into the bin and took it out again after I thought it'll be a waste to stash it. Whops..Elaine..I hope you're not reading this!

The last picture is a fabric album that I made from scratch myself. Was inspired by Irene Gwen and I thought - what the heck, I'll make one myself cos I have no idea where to buy fabric albums!

Tomorrow is a busy day for me with work and a dinner party to go to. Here's wishing everyone a blessed Christmas!

Remembering 2009!

Got started to do this project about a week ago, mostly inspired by my Maya Road stash that is building up and I wanted to use up some of the albums (to justify buying more!)

I also wanted to capture the significant moments of 2009 - a year of great change to my life in so many aspects - changing work place, getting married and having a cute niece to play with.

I'll let the photos do the talking:

Will be back soon to share photos for 2 notebooks I did...they're almost finished!!

Photos & Update from ZA!

I got back on Sat morning after a long 12 hour flight from Cape Town. Gosh. I don't even know how to describe the crazy journey I had back home but oh well, I'm finally back and will let the photos do the talking. Needed some time to do laundry, pack the house and do collages for our photos which I finally got down to yesterday. Here they are:

On a separate note, do check out my good friend Justina's blog here if you're interested in some tips on motherhood and nursing covers. She's started sewing them for sale lately and if you're interested, email her or let me know. I've also taken to start on making fabric albums which will be completed tomorrow when I can get my hands on my sewing machine in my mum's place. Will post photos of my album when it's done. Maybe Jus and me can set up an etsy shop!! :)

I'm back!!!

Hey everyone,
I'm finally home after 9 days away in the beautiful land of S. Africa..woo!! I looked like a half baked black chicken now with a very uneven tan and am also half dazed and groggy due to the time difference. I have heaps of fabulous photos to share but that'll come later when I get the hubby to give them to me. For now, here's some nice links you may want to check out!

Scraproom!

Just bought some awesome 3m hooks yesterday at the suggestion of the hubby to hang my thickers in the cupboard of our study. What a brillant idea it was as it saves space and has also helped me to realise what a ton of thickers I have and that it's time to STOP buying until I've used up some of them. The problem I've always had is that I feel I should save them and use them sparingly and now ..viola! I have so many of them that I can't wait to get rid of!

While I was at it, I decided to take some photos of my scarp area and post it up here for your viewing pleasure....Here goes....

The other small overhanging cupboard I have..

Closeup of one of the racks in the cupboard...

Full view of my cupboards and my stash!

I leave on Thursday for my holiday..will be back after that for more posting..
have a good holiday everyone!

Long post ahead!

Apologies for the lack of updates - H was away on reservist and I couldn't get him to take photos but we managed to get some photos tonight so here I am posting on a sunday night. I resolve to learn how to use his camera so I don't need to depend on him!

Ok, first up is a photo of me and little plum. She's adorable right? In her cool sunnies!

Now for some scrapping galore of the stuff I've been up to this hols. 2 'K's for a colleague and a good friend's baby shower. This one uses scenic route Garden Glove as the base paper and plenty of OA goodness for the embellishements.

2nd 'K' for Kyler..Windran's baby. Haven't got to see him yet as we missed the shower but we'll get it to him soon!

Supplies: Base paper - Cosmo Cricket's Girl Friday and OA paper for the Trees and apples. Animals and mushrooms are from Imagniasce. Lovely line they have here man!

Next on the list is something I wanted to do for a long time since I first saw cosmo's The Boyfriend line and these nice laundry lines really called out to me to craft something for my laundry area. I've not got a frame yet so it's still not on our laundry area but Wed I'll get a frame from Laines. Hope it is a hint to the SO to do the laundry for me!!

Last post of the day is from a class I did at Paper Market..really good promotion cos we had $35 off the class and only paid $33 for this awesome box. LOVE IT HEAPS!!

Thanks for looking! Have a good week everyone. Will be back soon with more posts, depending on what I'm inspired to do next. But I promise I'll get down to some crafting this week! God Bless!

Wed morning

I'm at home on a wed morning with all the other SAHM and people who don't need to work for a living! It still amazes me each time I go out on such a day and meet so many other people who really don't have to toil and have money to spend! I so wanna join the club!

The workmen are coming this afternoon to create a little havoc and unrest to my neighbours (SORRY!!) to do up our kitchen and study room. H and me managed to clean out the kitchen and the study last night to prepare for their arrival. We're not looking forward to the mess and incessant drilling but we figured that we'll be pleased with the end results so we decided to go ahead with it.

Will post photos of the new room and kitchen after it's done or better still, we'll get you over soon to see it in person!

Have a good day!
I'm loving my stay home days!

Natalie!

Made this over the past week for a good friend's new born baby. During one of our conversations, she mentioned that she really liked what Lia did for some of her projects and I thought it'll be nice to do something similar for her baby. She had a difficult pregnancy so I thought this would cheer her up!

H is really busy with work now and so i resorted to using my Casio camera to snap some shots to load the photos up since I'm so pleased that I've finished this project. Will find time to visit her next week..so Fern, if you're reading this, you'll get to see Natalie's present before I actually give it to you!! :)

Close ups:

The letter 'L' is favourite piece...H voted for it too. How about you?

No photos this time. Sorry!

Apologies for the 'no photo post' as I've not taken many pics lately due to my busy schedule. Marking season has descended upon us again and this time, it's threatening to blow up my brains and my sanity with 12 classes of the exact same thing to mark. I've never marked this sheer amount of scripts at any one time before so it's a new challenge for me. For the record, I'm 8 classes down and left with 4 more. argh.....

On a happier note, it's a holiday tomorrow so maybe i'll pull off some time to scrap (i need my sanity!) and i'm really itching to get down to some crafting. Have a project in mind to use up (ALL!) my cosmo love earth papers before nutmeg comes along. NUTMEG, I can't wait for u to arrive!

H is out at Queensway to buy trekking shoes so I'm home alone with my marking. I'm taking a break so decided to blog a short post.

Will be back after the marking is over!
Have a good weekend!

Cosmo goodness!

Managed to get photos of my latest project to upload with the help of H and his super duper (expensive) camera. Since he's into photography now, he's become my official camera man and is more than happy to take photos of my projects for me to post online!

First up: Gift for a colleague's birthday..who's also my boss. A very nice one too. :) It's a little name piece for her to display!

Next up: A mini album for aunt Monica and her family to thank her for her help and generosity during my recent wedding. She didn't want to take our ang pow so I thought I'll make her something that she can put her family photos in. The pages on the left are empty for her to put in her own photos!

Cover Page: (Minus the word 'Family' that i'm supposed to glitter and put on but I'm afraid it'll dirty my floor so I'll do it last!)

That's all for now, I've to go cook dinner but I'll be mindful to update my blog more often!

Back!

Apologies to my frequent blog readers that I've been away for so long. I really do not have a habit of updating my blog regularly, mostly cos I am not a big photographer and I do feel the need to post some photos when I update my blog!

I still have no photos of now but will be back with some of my lastest work in my next post!

New Layout!

Did this layout on sunday night for my pre wedding photos and completed it this evening with the help of Jean. I love the final look of it and am really glad it all came out quite nicely together. Big thanks to Jean as always for the photos and resizing. I owe her big time (but i think i already paid her in kind by giving her an album from cosmo!)

Here are the photos:

Have a great week ahead!!

Maya Road Mini Album

Was very inspired by the design of this Maya Road Mini Album and I decided that I was going to buy it and work on a little project to capture our good days together over the past year. I think it's always nice to look back on the past and jot down your memories of those great moments you have with your SO. As always, October Afternoon is one of my most favourite brands to work with and definitely a wise choice to do up this album. Maya Road + October Afternoon = GREAT STUFF!!

Here's how the album looks like!

Have a good week everyone. Will try to post my next project soon!
